This bronze cross was awarded to soldiers for an act of bravery against the enemy. The obverse of the cross, which features crossed swords between the arms, depicts a lion rampant. The reverse features the A (monogram) of King Albert I.
 This medal had to be paid for by the customer and due to the limited resources available at the time, it was often not purchased.
